Here comes part three… still have a lots of photos to share. Once we returned from the hilltribe treks, we spent a couple of days in Chiang Mai which is know for its many many thousands of temples. I found this Buddha statue to be particulary beautiful.
The architecture of some of the temples was just amazing.
Gold and colors all over the place. We talked to monks and learned that rich man had donated these temples to gain good karma.
I found myself shooting on markets most of the time. They were just always full of people and action. Loud, busy, smelly,…
So many different ingredients. I like the colors of these photographs.
One of the most detailed pictures, I took in Thailand. Sums up a lot of the experience.
These stands were really interesting. I have never seen half of the stuff on these tables.
Was getting hungry at lunchtime. Street kitchen time.
As there were many temples, there were also many monks.
It did smell really good.
Children in a taxi.
Being on a bicycle in Thailand is an adventure itself. The traffic is – let’s say – less systematic than in Europe.
Going to another temple again. It was on top of a hill. These little girl posed with tourist. Sad….
The most holy place in the temple. People were wandering around it and praying.
Another ritual that had to be fullfilled.
Met this young boy along the way.
Unfortunately, we were not able to see anything in the valley do to the smog.
After beautiful days in the North of Thailand, we returned South. Back to Bangkok.
Wat Arun in the evening.
This was actually the first time, we had a temple just for ourselves. I quite like the transparent buddha picture.
Morning view over Bangkok.
Just one man was already there. Total serenity.
Strolling through the City, eyes wide open. Taking it all in.
Really like this one.
The King can be seen anywhere in Thailand (on the house in the back, on the left).
After the stopover in Bangkok, we travelled further south, finally reaching the sea and beautiful islands. But that will be part of the next post.

See Thailand (part two).
